Our Mission

The KKc Foundation is dedicated to continuing our loved ones' fights against breast cancer.

Almost everyone in the U.S. has been impacted by cancer in some way. In our experience, it can be a helpless feeling when someone you love is diagnosed. We choose to fight alongside them, and we have found so much hope, strength, and support in the process. We hope you'll join us!

Our Story

My mom was diagnosed with late-stage breast cancer in 2013. After her first surgery, she woke up with a slogan for her fight against cancer. “KKc for Kick Kim’s cancer—but the c always has to be little because cancer doesn’t deserve to be capitalized”.

Since Kim's passing, KKc has come to mean so much to our family, those who knew my mom, and those who have heard her story. For my siblings and I, it felt like she wrapped so many of her lessons for us into that little acronym. There are a lot of terrible things that can happen in our lives, but we have the choice to refuse to capitalize them.

My mom whole-heartedly believed in finding a cure. On multiple occasions, she told me she felt if she could hold on for a few more years, we’d have a cure and she could be cancer-free. Because she isn’t here to continue that fight, I am dedicated to continuing it in her memory.

With the help of our incredible community, we’ve been able to raise more than $70,000 for cancer research over the past seven years. I have no intention of stopping anytime soon and set the goal of $100K $100K by  year 10 in 2024. I hope you will consider helping!

Research is the reason there are more than 3.8 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S. and deaths from breast cancer have decreased by 40% since 1989. However, with more than 44,000 lives lost to the disease every year, there is still critical work to be done.

Since 2013, we have raised over $70,000 and walked over 700 miles for breast cancer research benefiting different organizations near and dear to our hearts including American Cancer Society and Susan G. Komen.

In 2022, we launched the KKc Foundation which we will use to further our fundraising efforts. We are committed to supporting institutions on the cutting edge of breast cancer research.

We will continue our annual distance walks in Kim's memory, and we hope you'll join us for a mile or two.

Thank you so much for your continued support!
